This tutorial will show you how to configure tier pricing in Magento.

Tier pricing is a promotional tool that lets you price items differently for higher quantities. This is an effective way to move more merchandise. For example, you sell office supplies and you want to create a promotion where customers who buy three boxes of printer paper save money compared to buying just one box. In the front-end this will display like this:

Now when customers add 3 boxes of the printer paper to their cart, they will see an item price of $14.49 each, as opposed to $16.99 for just one.

Here is what you need to do to configure Tier Pricing:

1. Log into your Magento admin panel.

2. Navigate to Catalog -> Manage Products:

   

3. Find and click the product that you want to add tier pricing to (or create a new product).

4. Locate the Prices tab on the left and click on it:

   

5. Click the button that says Add Tier:

   

6. Enter the quantity you wish to start the tier pricing from:

   

7. Enter the new price per item that will take effect on the quantity specified:

   

8. Make sure the Tier price should be less than normal price.

9. Press Save to save the changes and have tiers start displaying at the front-end.

10. Refresh the home page of your store to see the changes. You may also need to clear Magento cache to see the changes.
