PrestaShop 1.6.x. How to update the footer layout with “TM Mega Layout” module
August 8, 2016
Hello! This video tutorial shows how to update the footer layout using the “TM Mega Layout“ module in PrestaShop templates.
There is another great module included in our PrestaShop templates called “TM Mega Layout”.
The module is designed to let you create custom layouts (presets) for hooks and display them at the site instead of default positions.
It allows you to create different hook markups and modify them up to your needs which we believe is a great advantage.
Let’s learn how to manage this module.
The tutorial assumes you are already logged in to your PrestaShop administration area.
-
Navigate to Modules and Services ->Modules and Services tab:
-
Then use the Search field in the Modules List section to find a “TM Mega Layout” module:
-
Click on the “Configure” button next to the module name to open it for editing:
-
Now that the module editing interface is opened in front of you, choose the hook you would like to edit the layout of.
Let’s say you want to change the look of your site footer.
-
Click the “DISPLAYFOOTER” tab to have the footer hook editing screen opened:
Here you may choose among the existing presets or add your own preset with a specific footer layout.
You can also set one of presets as a default for your site:
You can also manage rows and columns at the lower part of the hook editing screen to have the footer layout match your desire.
Let’s say you want to change the order of your footer columns.
-
Look for the Row 1 section with Column 1, Column 2, Column 3 and Column 4 assigned to it.
-
Click on the column you would like to change the order of, and holding the left mouse button simply drag and drop the column to the needed position:
Now you have the Categories Block module displayed in the first column and the CMS Block module in the second column:
Another great thing is changes are saved “on-the-fly” which means you do not have to hit “Update” every time you change something:
-
Navigate to your store frontend and refresh the page to see changes applied.
You can see the Categories module displayed in the first column now:
This is the end of the tutorial. Now you know how to update the footer layout using “TM Mega Layout” module in your PrestaShop template.
