This tutorial is going to show you how to work with portfolio post formats on your WordPress Cherry Framework based template.
WordPress. How to work with Portfolio posts formats on Cherry Framework based template
First off, you need to create a portfolio custom post. Log into your WordPress admin panel and go to the Portfolio -> Add New.
Scroll down, and under the Portfolio Options panel find a drop-down to select a desired portfolio format. Creating a portfolio post allows you to select one of the available post types (if you used the sample demo for installing your template, you might already have examples of them):

Image is a default gallery post format. Displays the featured image only.

Slideshow: the project gallery is displayed as a slideshow. It can contain an unlimited number of images uploaded and attached to the post.

Grid Gallery: post images are displayed as a gallery. Can contain an unlimited number of images uploaded and attached to the post.

Video: in this post type you can embed a video from any video hosting (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.).

Audio: by selecting this post type, you can embed your audio link.
Creating Image Format Portfolio post
Now let’s create each of these formats. Follow the steps below to create a gallery post based on Image format (select Format-> Image) :

Enter your new post title.

Add your content. It will be displayed as description text on the right of your page.

Under the Categories panel check the categories you want to show as links to the category pages on the right of the page. You can add new categories right away in the same panel.

Manually enter tags under the Tags panel. Click Enter to add each of them.

Under the Portfolio Options panel, enter the date, client’s name, info, URL.

Under the Image Settings tab you can disable/enable the lightbox.

Under the Featured Image panel click Set Featured Image and upload the image you want to be displayed on the left of the page. In the window that pops up, click Media library, if you want to use an image already uploaded to WordPress, or Upload Files to navigate to the image on your computer and upload it to WordPress and it will appear in the media library. Select it and click the Set Featured Image button at the bottom. The image will appear under the Featured Image panel.

Alternatively, you can use the Add Media tab to set your image. Click on it, then click Set Featured Image and follow the same steps.
Creating Slideshow/Gallery Format Portfolio post
To create posts based on Slideshow/Gallery Formats (select Format-> Slideshow/Grid Gallery):

Follow steps 1-6 needed for creating Image Format post.

Scroll up and click the Add Media button.

Click Set Featured Image on the left.

Click Select Files and navigate to the image on your computer to upload it to WordPress.

Select one of the images you uploaded and click Set Featured Image at the bottom. It will be added to the Featured Image panel.

Repeat steps 2-5 to add more images.
Creating Video Format Portfolio post
To add a post based on Video Format (select Format -> Video):

Follow steps 1-6 needed for creating Image Format.

Enter Title, Artist fields.

Go to the Media -> Add New menu and upload your video file.

Once it is uploaded, click Edit.

On the next page copy the file address from the File URL field, like wp-content/uploads/2014/02/video1.m4v or wp-content/uploads/2014/02/video2.ogv:

Paste it in URL#1 or URL#2 fields of your post.

You can also include an embedded code from youtube.com etc to the Embedded Code field. This code overwrite your video URL(s).
Creating Audio Format Portfolio post
To add a post based on Audio Format (select Format -> Audio):

Follow steps 1-6 needed for creating Image Format.

Enter Title, Artist fields.

Select the Format for your file(mp3,wav, ogg).

Go to the Media -> Add New menu and upload your audio file.

Once it is uploaded, click Edit.

On the next page copy the file address from the File URL field, like wp-content/uploads/2014/02/sound2.

Paste it in th Audio URL field of your post.
Click Publish/Update when you are done, then click Preview Changes.
